The projections on the axes OxOx, OyOy, OzOz of the force with which a point of mass mm is attracted, by Newton's law, by a body of density μ\mu, are expressed by the formulas:

X=fm∂P∂x=fm∭ωμ(ξ−x) dωr3,Y=fm∂P∂y=fm∭ωμ(η−y) dωr3, X = fm\frac{\partial P}{\partial x} = fm\iiint \limits _{\omega } \mu \frac{(\xi -x) \, d\omega }{r^{3}}, \qquad Y = fm\frac{\partial P}{\partial y} = fm\iiint \limits _{\omega } \mu \frac{(\eta -y) \, d\omega }{r^{3}}, Z=fm∂P∂z=fm∭ωμ(ζ−z) dωr3, Z = fm\frac{\partial P}{\partial z} = fm\iiint \limits _{\omega } \mu \frac{(\zeta -z) \, d\omega }{r^{3}},

where P=∭ωμdωrP=\iiint_{\omega } \mu \dfrac {d\omega }{r}, r=(ξ−x)2+(η−y)2+(ζ−z)2r=\sqrt{(\xi -x)^{2}+(\eta -y)^{2}+(\zeta -z)^{2}}, ff is the gravitational constant. Remark.
?

Two approaches quickly lead to the goal: 1) Use the fact that the integral over the variables (ξ,η,ζ)(\xi ,\eta ,\zeta ) gives the potential of the sphere at an interior point (x,y,z)(x,y,z), found in one of the earlier problems (problem 3799). 2) Account for the work dAdA done when the masses coming from infinity increase the radius of the sphere from rr to r+drr+dr, and integrate the result over rr from 00 to aa.
