(Schauder) Let A∈L(X1,X2)A \in \mathcal{L}\left(X_{1}, X_{2}\right), where X1X_{1} is an NLS and X2X_{2} is a Banach space. Prove that A∈S∞(X1,X2)A \in S_{\infty }\left(X_{1}, X_{2}\right) if and only if A′∈S∞(X2∗,X1∗)A^{\prime } \in S_{\infty }\left(X_{2}^{*}, X_{1}^{*}\right).

?

Let A∈L(X1,X2)A \in \mathcal{L}\left(X_{1}, X_{2}\right), where X1X_{1} is an NLS and X2X_{2} is a separable Banach space. Prove that A∈S∞(X1,X2)A \in S_{\infty }\left(X_{1}, X_{2}\right) if and only if A′A^{\prime } transforms every weak-* convergent sequence in X2∗X_{2}^{*} into a strongly convergent sequence in X1∗X_{1}^{*}.

?

Let XX and YY be Banach spaces, with YY separable. Let A∈B(X,Y)A \in \mathcal{B}(X, Y), and let the operator A′A^{\prime } carry every ∗*-weakly convergent sequence in Y∗Y^{*} into a sequence convergent in norm in X∗X^{*}. Prove that AA is compact.

?

Prove that in a Hilbert space the operator AA is compact if and only if A∗A^{*} is compact.

Given xk∈Hx_{k} \in H and yk∈Ky_{k} \in K, show that the adjoint of T=∑k=1Mxk⊗ykT = \sum_{k = 1}^{M} x_{k} \otimes y_{k} is T∗=∑k=1Myk⊗xkT^{*} = \sum_{k = 1}^{M} y_{k} \otimes x_{k}

(b)

Given T∈B(H,K)T \in \mathcal{B}(H, K), show that TT is compact if and only if T∗T^{*} is compact.

Let L1L_1 and L2L_2 be Banach spaces, and A∈L(L1,L2)A\in \mathcal L(L_1,L_2). Prove that AA is compact if A′A' is.
