Problem 5.4.1

In (MF15), the completeness of ( Ω,F,μ\Omega , \mathcal{F}, \mu ) is not a redundant assumption.

(MF15): Let (Ω,F,μ)(\Omega , \mathcal{F}, \mu ) denote a complete measure space, and let A∈F−{∅}A \in \mathcal{F} - \left\{ \varnothing \right\}. Let {fn}n=1∞\left\{ f_{n}\right\}_{n=1}^{\infty } denote a sequence of F/B∗\mathcal{F} / \mathfrak {B}^{*}-measurable functions, each of which is defined μ\mu-a.e. on AA. Suppose that ff is defined μ\mu-a.e. on AA and that lim⁡nfn(ω)=f(ω)\lim_{n} f_{n}(\omega ) = f(\omega ) μ\mu-a.e. on AA. Then ff is F/B∗\mathcal{F} / \mathfrak {B}^{*}-measurable.

Problem 5.4.2

Suppose that f:R→Rf: \mathbb {R} \rightarrow \mathbb {R} is a differentiable function. Then f′f^{\prime } is a Borel measurable function.

?
Problem 5.4.3

Let f:R→R‾f: \mathbb {R} \rightarrow \overline{\mathbb {R}}. The statement ff is continuous at almost every x∈Rx \in \mathbb {R} neither implies nor is implied by the statement there exists continuous g:R→R‾g: \mathbb {R} \rightarrow \overline{\mathbb {R}} such that f=gf=g μ\mu-a.e. on R\mathbb {R}.
